Door/Drawer Refinishing

Each project has unique features. All doors and drawers will be prepared to create the best possible canvas for our factory finish. We take no shortcuts. Generally, each piece is washed using an industrial-grade solvent to remove years of grease and build-up. This is a step often left out by standard paint companies. This skipped step can create various issues that will compromise the look and durability of your finish.

Next, we sand each piece using our high-quality Festool HEPA-certified sanding system. Depending on the type of wood and current finish, we will either use a gentle or vigorous pad. We also meticulously hand-sand any coves or edges not reached by our power sanders.

Afterward, we continue prepping your cabinets for our craft finish. This includes many steps, including priming, patching, caulking, repairing, and stripping as needed. We use professional paint spray booths where all pieces are sprayed. We carefully inspect each piece under a bright lighting system at each process step, guaranteeing a high-quality "from-the-factory" end product. Most projects undergo one to two coats of primer and two to three coats of our signature paint.

Each door and drawer will be sprayed equally on both sides. The pieces are laid flat in our special drying racks allowing us to spray a thick layer on each side. By contrast, standard paint companies spray them vertically, creating drips and drooping.

In-Home Refinishing

We created the in-home refinishing process to be non-invasive and hassle-free for you! This step generally can require two to six days, depending on the size and scope of your project. You need not be present for this, so you don't need to miss work or other duties. We similarly prepare the cabinets as the doors and drawers. Using our high-quality HEPA-certified Festool vacuum system, we will leave the home virtually dust-free! The odor is minimal, and the dry times are quick.

Reinstalling

Once all steps are completed, the reinstallation process begins. Your cabinetry will be transported from the CCF shop to the home using protective measures. The refinished cabinet doors and drawers are systematically reinstalled, ensuring they are leveled and even.

This is also when we install new hardware, such as pulls, knobs, or hinges. (Ask about our soft close hinge upgrade.) An average kitchen takes between 5-7 business days from start to finish.
